In 2019, Graceway Communities celebrated 20 years of operation, and in doing so Graceway thought it best to celebrate by lending a helping hand to the people of the Turks and Caicos by launching the “Staying Blue” campaign. The Main focus of the Staying Blue campaign was to focus more on recycling and reusing and making a positive impact on the environment in the Turks and Caicos. While focusing on reusing and recycling, Graceway Supermarkets had completely taken out plastic bags and switched to paper, Graceway Supermarkets influenced people to begin using reusable shopping bags to contribute to the cutting down on waste, in doing so they consumers would get rewarded with a blue Graceway Communities token which they can submit to any of the three organizations or charities they feel best suited to receive a portion of the donation from Graceway Communities.
Every three months Graceway Communities would donate $10,000 to three charities or organization in the Turks and Caicos. Through the course of the Staying Blue campaign, Graceway Communities has donated thousands of dollars to organizations and charities in just a years time. When customers are rewarded with blue tokens for using reusable bags, the customers are to put the blue tokens towards any of the three charities or organizations that have been chosen, and depending on the amount of tokens a charity has received would determine the amount of the $10,000 dollars each organization would receive. Grace way Communities were keen on letting the community be the influencers on which charities or organizations would receive the amounts of the $10,000. SNAP CENTRE PLAYGROUND REVIVAL WITH STAYING BLUE
Graceway Communities is making fast progress with the revival of the SNAP Center playground! The Staying Blue token scheme continues to help support charities and non-profits across the Turks and Caicos Islands.
The Snap Center Playground as it’s first project to receive the $10,000 donation. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic that had put a delay on development, Graceway Communities had continued to donate $25,000 to many other various under-served projects and to those in the community that were struggling due to the pandemic. Finally in October of 2020 after the long overdue delay of the COVID-19 pandemic, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Snap Center Playground was held. In recent Grace way communities had refurbished the Ashley Learning Center for the autistic and special needs. Thanks to the help of out community and the Graceway Community many other oganizations
