Dear Customers,

As an island nation, we continue to face the challenges of the Coronavirus and the Graceway Team wants to keep you updated on any developments that might affect your shopping needs.

We have seen a global surge in the demand for fresh eggs and as a result, availability on the larger eggs may become affected as well as price increases across the range. Where possible we will not pass on the full price increase to our customers.

We have also seen significant increase in the demand for fresh chicken and we expect to have some gaps over the next couple of days. We have plenty of more fresh chicken on order and will have the full range in the coming few days.

Sincerely,
Graceway Supermarkets Management

Press Release: Response to Coronavirus update

gs_hdr.jpg

We are aware that there is a social media message in circulation regarding availability of product which is causing some concern. In our preparation for the Coronavirus crisis, we have built up food stocks which remain good at all of our stores and our supply chain remains solid. With the current global disruption it is to be expected that some items may not be readily available or in short supply. However, we remain committed to sourcing alternatives and keeping the island in good supply.

We would ask everyone to be considerate in the way they shop. We understand your concerns, but buying more than is needed can sometimes mean that others will be left without. There is enough for everyone if we all work together.

Graceway will continue to provide for the community as it has consistency done through all major events that the islands have faced over the last 20 years.

Please check our Facebook page regularly for future updates from the Graceway Team.

Sincerely,
Graceway Supermarkets Management

From Turks and Caicos Hotel & Tourism Association Press Release

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, Monday, March 12th 2020

This year, the Turks and Caicos Islands Department of Sports realized the dream of having an organized Secondary School Scholastic Sports Program; a series of sporting events, training and competitions aimed at preparing our talented student athletes for the Turks and Caicos Inter High School National Track & Field Championships held March 7th – 9th at the country’s national stadium.

The Scholastic Sports Program is one that is no small feat for Turks and Caicos; our unique situation as a chain of islands has proven to be a challenge due to the cost and logistics associated with transporting coaches, athletes and officials throughout the islands which is essential for developing a true, comprehensive sporting program.

This year, many of our TCHTA members were a part of the group of corporate sponsors that rose to the occasion and partnered with the country’s Sports Department to give our student athletes the opportunity and platform they need to nurture their talents.

The Turks and Caicos Hotel & Tourism Association applauds members Graceway IGA, Caribbean Cruisin’ and FortisTCI for their valuable contributions to ensuring that this time-honoured and anticipated event was given the support it deserved.

This year, international coaches and scouts travelled to the island to see our athletes in action in hopes of finding their next college stars. TCHTA member Ports of Call Resort played an integral part by providing the accommodations for these visiting sporting professionals, while TCHTA member The Lodgings generously supported the entire scholastic sporting season by providing accommodations throughout the length of the program.

The opening ceremony of the national sporting event is always a spectacular treat for the fans and athletes alike. TCHTA members Royal West Indies and Tuscany Resort sponsor the opening ceremony each year, and this year they provided the support to make it bigger and better than ever before.

Tying it all together was the important component of ensuring that the athletes could travel from one island to the other throughout the season to participate in the trials and competitions that would prepare and qualify them for the big weekend. In the past, costly charters would be required, and the consistency of the program would suffer due to the financial strain this posed. This year, the answer to that travelling issue was TCHTA member interCaribbean Airways, who generously provided sponsorship for the athletes’ air travel throughout the scholastic year and arranged flights in accordance with the schedule set out for the sports program.

The health and safety of the communities we serve is our top priority and we would like to reassure you that we are intensely focused on taking every step possible to provide a safe and clean environment to serve you during this time. As such, we wanted to take this opportunity to share with you some of the steps we are taking to address coronavirus (COVID-19).

We pride ourselves in having clean stores and following food safety and hygiene standards and regulations, however, we have increased the frequency of our cleaning procedures and protocols. Our associates are regularly disinfecting frequently trafficked and high-touch areas in our stores and we have made sanitizing wipes available at all stores’ entry/exit points as well as cash register and we encourage you to use them as a precaution.

We are also working closely with our international and local suppliers to make certain that our stores remain fully stocked with the items that you need. As you may be aware, there is a high demand for items such as hand sanitizers, Lysol and other disinfecting/cleaning agents, which may temporarily be out of stock, but we are doing our best to reorder and restock as soon as possible.

As ever, we are following the directives of The Ministry of Health as well as the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to ensure that we are responding to the most up to date information to do our part to keep our customers and associates safe.
